The Welcome to the Forest series consists of 7 designs that will be released consecutively for 7 months. The first design, Forest Banner, is larger than the rest and has a stitch count of 121w x 67h. Each of the other 6 designs has a stitch count of 59w x 67h. There will also be a free border pattern available from my website. If the entire series is stitched together with the border, as I show, it has a stitch count of 135w x 295h. Also, if you are stitching the series together, as I show, you will leave 3 stitches between each of the blocks.
The fabric used for the models is Wichelt’s 32 count Lambswool Linen. The designs also use the same threads throughout. If all of the designs are stitched, a total of this many skeins of floss will be needed: Classic Colorworks’ Snowball (3), Jolly Holly (3), Hazelnut (2), Really Teally (2), and Blushing Beauty (1). DMC: 367, 646, 648, 738, 744, 838, 840, 842, 869, 891, 3031, 3341.
This is the complimentary border for the Welcome to the Forest series. It is 6 color pages. No key is included. You will use the threads called for in the rest of the series. White is Snowball, brown is Hazelnut, lighter green is Jolly Holly, and darker green is DMC 367. I have included some of the white interior stitches from the actual designs in the series to assist with your counting. But of course, the best thing to do is to stitch the border as you go, as counting mistakes do happen!
